Comprehensive School Reform Conferences

AMSAQ provides organizational support to Westat implementing three or four annual multi-day conferences in different regions of the United States that bring together several hundred educators to meet with the US Department of Education to review progress on school reform issues. As a subcontractor, AMSAQ is responsible for assessing site options, negotiating and managing hotel contracts and related logistics contracts, and providing personnel at the conference to manage its day-to-day operations.

Early Childhood Longitudinal Study (ECLS) – Kindergarten Cohort, Round IV

AMSAQ provides travel and training workshop support as a subcontractor to Westat on this four-year project. Training sessions range in size from about 10 to several hundred, and their duration ranges from one to five days.

Interdisciplinary Studies of Genetic and Environmental Causes of Cancer

This National Cancer Institute-funded project establishes a mechanism to provide all the services required to conduct a wide variety of domestic and international family studies and field studies. AMSAQ has a subcontract to Westat to provide travel support, often on very short notice, to field research teams when they are required to collect data from individuals in locations across the United States.

Medicare Current Beneficiaries Study

The MCBS is sponsored by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. As a subcontractor, AMSAQ is assisting Westat by providing conference and logistic support for interviewer training. Two sessions are held each year. AMSAQ's activities include, but are not restricted to, preparation and implementation of training sessions at locations around the nation. AMSAQ also provides for scheduling and payment of hotel rooms.

Clinical Genetics Branch Support Services

The purpose of the Clinical Genetics Branch Support Services Contract is to support the researchers of the Clinical Genetics Branch, Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics, National Cancer Institute in carrying out their research agenda. AMSAQ provides travel support as a subcontractor to Westat in its activities to provide development, data collection and data management support for clinical studies aimed at prevention and early detection of cancer in genetically high-risk individuals and their families.

National Assessment of Adult Literacy

AMSAQ provides travel support to Westat as a subcontractor on this significant four-year survey project. AMSAQ is responsible for supervisor and interviewer travel to training; home office staff travel to field-test training; interviewer trouble-shooting trips; travel to main study training by supervisors, field managers, and interviewers; home office travel to main study training; and interviewer trouble-shooting trips for the main study.

Teacher-to-Teacher Training Conferences

AMSAQ, as a subcontractor to Westat, assists the US Department of Education in planning, organizing, and implementing an annual series of teacher training conferences that are held in the summer across the United States. Conference attendance ranges from about 100 to over 300 teachers, administrators, and others. AMSAQ arranges for accommodations for sponsored attendees, books and manages meeting space and other facilities, arranges security, local transportation, audio-visual equipment, and similar services. AMSAQ also provides on-site logistical support at the majority of the conferences.

Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging

This project is funded by the National Institutes of Health to continue data collection for one of the nation’s largest and most significant studies of aging through 2012.  AMSAQ, as a subcontractor to Westat, is responsible for travel support to the field data collection activities.

AMSAQ is providing professional support for planning and managing FMCS’ annual conference for 2008 in Washington, DC.  Our responsibilities for this week long, 1,500 participant conference include:

DSMB Meetings

AMSAQ provides logistical support for the meeting of the Data Safety and Monitoring Board of the National Cancer Institute.  We select and contract meeting and lodging facilities for a multi-day meeting involving about 40 individuals, negotiate and monitor audio-visual and food and beverage services, and arrange travel.  This work is being conducted for Westat.

Multi-Disciplinary Investigations of Nutrition and Cancer

AMSAQ provides international and domestic travel support for data collection activities conducted by Westat for the Nutrition Epidemiology Branch (NEB) of the National Cancer Institute.  The data collection activities support variety of investigations pertinent to NEB’s mission; namely, clarifying the role of nutrition in causing and preventing human cancer.

Interdisciplinary Studies of Occupational and Environmental Cancer

AMSAQ provides logistical support for meetings of collaborating researchers working on projects for the Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology Branch (OEEB) of the National Cancer Institute.   We arrange and manage meeting facilities, audio-visual support, and other meeting-support activities.  AMSAQ also provides travel and lodging support as needed.  This five-year project has no fixed scope of services, but generally there are several national meetings each year.  This work is being conducted under subcontract to Westat.

Title II “Teacher Quality” Meetings

AMSAQ provides logistical and administrative support for U.S. Department of Education Title II, Part A meetings under subcontract to Westat. Each year’s meetings involve one national two-day, 150 participant conference and up to two technical work group meetings involving 10 to 25 participants.  For the conference, AMSAQ arranges and managing meeting facilities, audio-visual support, and meals and beverages in addition to arranging travel for invited speakers.  For the TWG meetings, AMSAQ arranges travel and accommodations and secures meeting space as needed.
